Nature photography to me is all about observing and capturing detailes and moments in our ever changing environment. Be it the changing colors of the seasons, the spooky moments during dusk or dawn, the patterns of a butterfly's wing or the flow of water down a stream. They are all expressions of an ever changing nature and every picture is unique because these expressions are never exactly the same. And in a world that is succumbing to human planning and infrastucture many of these moments are lost for ever. By trying to capture these moments on film or digital memory, we have the possibility to share these moments with many. This site presents some of my moments that I would like to share. Enjoy.
I hold a Ph.D. in ecology and are mainly interested in how climate change are affecting the ecosystems. I have worked for many years in arctic and alpine areas where my focus has been herbivore-plant interactions. I also have a strong interest in predator ecology with main focus on wolf biology. Currently my work focus on how land use and land use change affect biodiversity using birds and plants as indicators.
The science of ecology is all about trying to understand the abundance and distribution of organisms. To achieve a higher level of knowledge it is imperative to spend time out in the wild to get a closer look at how your study systems work for real. I spend a lot of time out in arctic and alpine areas to get first hand experience and knowledge about how my research systems work.
